New Terminal Container Ravano
New Terminal Container Ravano – La Spezia
The company LSCT (La Spezia Container Terminal), part of the Contship Italia group, has appointed the RTP formed by the companies ModPro S.r.l., GES S.r.l. and GEOEQUIPE, to proceed with the complete design of the new Terminal Ravano in the Port of La Spezia.
The Terminal will be equipped with an operational yard with a total area of about 12 ha and within it are provided 8 areas where containers will be stacked. These areas have a width of about 28 m so as to allow the storage of containers on 10 rows side by side. Each storage area is served by two automatic rail-mounted cranes (ASC type) capable of handling containers up to the sixth row.
In order to stack the containers up to the sixth row, all the works foreseen in the project have been cautiously sized considering loads corresponding to stacks of six rows of containers. To the rear of the container storage areas there is also the construction of a modern railway yard directly connected to the port railway network (La Spezia Marittima). The yard is equipped with 5 tracks 500 m long, served by 4 RMG type rail cranes.
The New Terminal will be able to allow the docking and mooring of the latest generation container ships (ULVC from 22,000 TEUS) up to 400 m long and provides for the electrification of the operating docks (cold ironing) in order to improve the environmental performance of the entire port system.
