Port of Taranto - Quay Deck Extension
The structural and functional requalification of the Terminal Container Quay has made it possible to carry out the following improvements:

Allow the deepening and dredging of the bottom from -14,50/-15,50 m to -16,50 m while guaranteing the stability of the existing deteriorated quay caisson structures and allowing the berthing of Containerships of up to 14.000 TEU size;

Create new crane traks for the new generation gantry cranes able to operate directly up to the 24° row of the Containership hold while moving 4 TEU at the same time;

Redesign all the Utilities network: fire, sewer systems and water treatments plants, electrical networks.
Structural and functional works also included:

A 10 m wide enlargment of the quay for 1.200,0 m of quay length, via a new deck on piles incorporating the existing caisson-made quay

New structural beams to withstand crane traks all along the quay;

Dredging of a 1.200 m x 20 m area in front of Quay foundation;

New water drainage network and treatment;

State of the art new electrical network.
